MTD Refurbished Used Universal Drive Shaft Assembly, 717-0135

Description

Refurbished original MTD Universal Drive Shaft Assembly (717-0135) for mower deck.
Refurbished male shaft on Universal Drive Shaft Male Half (717-0249) was done by owner using 6013 welding electrode.
Male shaft wear was refurbished using 6013 welding electrodes by laying down multiple welding beads and hand grinding with 80 & 120 grit flat grinding discs multiple times.
The outside average width of the four edges of the male shaft are: .871”, .871”, .875”, and .860”. The inside width of the four corners of the female shaft are: .892”, .892”, .891”, and .888”. The four corners of male shaft are within .013-.032” of four corners of female shaft.
Male shaft corner edges are .001, .003, .004, and .014” thinner than center of 4 male corresponding flat shaft surfaces due to the grinding process and are not perfectly square.
All measurements were made with a digital caliper.
Some smooth surfaces show minimal welding imperfections of all 4 surfaces of the male shaft as shown in photos.
The length of the refurbished male shaft more than covers the full range of the telescoping action of the male shaft.
Both U-joints are in excellent condition with no looseness.
Universal drive shaft in good working condition.
